JBC will participate in Give Big NRV this year!

The June Bug Center is a community space; working to strengthen and support Floyd, Virginia by providing education and enrichment opportunities, health and wellness programming and community hosted resources in a safe and encouraging atmosphere.

Saturday March 25th, 6 pm: JBC hosts Accessory Swap & Movie Night. Bring your jewelry, belts, & hats. Trade for new ones. Meet friends, make friends and laugh together at a comedy in the June Bug theater.

Friday, April 21, 7pm: Ballroom & Latin Dance Lessons at the June Bug Center. Join us for a FREE dance lesson on April 21st, followed by an 8 week beginner program every Friday at 7pm. Learn the basic steps of Ballroom and Latin dances like Disco, Salsa, Tango, Swing, Waltz and more. Please RSVP.


Sunday, April 23, 3 pm: Thomas O’Neill, a junior from Patrick Henry High School, will perform at the June Bug Center. He was the first place winner at the 2015 and 2016 state National Association of Teachers of Singing competition (NATS), the 2015 NATS Atlantic Regional Competition and qualified as a Semi-Finalist for the National Round in July 2015. He has participated in vocal training programs at The University of North Carolina School of the Arts, Torggler Summer Vocal Institute, the Altanta Opera, and Brevard Music Center in North Carolina.

Wesley McCune, who will accompany O'Neill, is a classically trained pianist and a four-time recipient of a National Endowment for the Humanities grant. He studied and developed teaching strategies, including a curriculum for children on the Autism spectrum, using the music of J.S. Bach.
